Thanks for visiting!! As the founding publisher of YachtWorld.com in 1995, I've worked with a team of talented people since our earliest days to grow YachtWorld from scratch into what is now the Internet's largest advertising system and MLS system for yacht brokers around the world. I have a long history in the marine industry, having co-founded and operated a yacht brokerage (Elliott Bay Yacht Sales) and dealership (representing J/boats, Ericson, Princess) and leasing business (Elliott Bay Yachting Center), which I ran for ten years in Seattle from 1980 to 1990. Prior to that I spent two years sailing offshore in a Baba 30. In the mid 80's I served on the board of the Northwest Marine Trade Association, and in 2000 I was honored to receive the NMTA's Jerry C. Bryant Award "For the most outstanding contribution to the marine industry by an individual within the industry." I semi-retired in April 2006 as publisher emeritus, and today consult on various projects and occasionally host YachtWorld Universities for our member brokers.
Outside of work I'm lucky enough to travel with friends, help my parents manage their lives, mentor a 12 year old, ski every winter weekend, work with the Benaroya Research Institute and meet my daughter for lunch. Currently my life revolves around my dog Alex, my golden retriever, who, as I'm writing this, is lying by desk with his head on the windowsill, watching the boats go by. Like all good dogs, he'd rather be sailing.
